Graduate Actuarial Trainee (GAT)

Graduate Actuarial Program (GAT) is a 6-month comprehensive internship program offered by Arpico Insurance PLC for undergraduate students and recent graduates aspiring for a rewarding career in actuarial science.

Program Content

1. Introduction to life insurance and its regulatory framework.
2. Exploratory data analysis project on actuarial valuation data 3. Conducting Insurance portfolio experience studies
3. Introduction to universal life insurance fund balance calculations.
4. Introduction to the concept of reinsurance and reinsurance premium calculation.
5. Study of financial statements of insurance companies.
6. New insurance product pricing project.
7. Development of actuarial valuation model for a new product.
8. Introduction to business projections.
9. Planning next steps in professional development for a career in actuarial profession.

Entry Requirements

1. Genuine interest and commitment to pursue a career in actuarial profession
2. Expected to graduate in next 12 months or already graduated during last 12 months with an undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related quantitative discipline.
3. Ability to work full-time during weekdays during the GAT program duration.
4. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suit. Knowledge of R programming language will be an added. advantage.
