ASSISTANT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
The Job
Installing and configuring computer systems, including hardware and software components.
•Managing Windows/Linux environments.
• Supporting, monitoring and housekeeping tasks of MySQL and Postgres databases.
• Monitoring system performance to ensure that it runs efficiently and effectively.
•Maintaining data security by monitoring user activity on the network for signs of unauthorized access or activity.
•Providing technical support to computer users who have problems using software applications or operating systems.
Managing data backups to ensure that data is not lost in case of a system failure.
• Installing new servers and upgrading existing servers as needed to support growing workloads.
• Running virus scans to detect and remove malware from infected systems.
• Installing new software and patches to ensure that systems are protected from cyber-attacks. •Conducting disaster recovery operations and maintaining disaster site servers for un-interrupted data replication.
The Person
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or a related discipline.
• 1-2 years of experience in System Administration / Network Administration or related field.
Hands on exposure in working with Microsoft Windows Server / Linux, Client Operating Systems, Network Protocols, Firewalls, Switches and Routers.
Experience in virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper V) would be a definite plus.
●Sound knowledge in computer systems from an end-user perspective.
Expertise in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other network protocols and technologies.
• Knowledge in computer hardware, network operations and maintenance.
• Fluency in both written and verbal English is a must.
●Flexible working hours and ability to work with minimum supervision.
