IT Support Officer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Officer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance to our employees, ensuring their desktops, laptops, and peripherals function efficiently. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring software, and delivering support to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Service Desk/Client IT Support
Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day technical support to end users.
Respond promptly to IT support requests via multiple channels (e.g., email, phone, support tickets).
Configure, install, and troubleshoot desktop PCs, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, both remotely and on-site.
Perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripherals where feasible, following specifications and guidelines.
Communicate updates on issues proactively and clearly to ensure end-user satisfaction and minimize downtime.
Assist in setting up and maintaining user accounts, permissions, and access in accordance with company policy.
Collaborate with IT vendors to ensure timely resolution of hardware/software issues and maintain strong working relationships.
Support the IT procurement process, including tracking orders, coordinating delivery, and verifying goods received.
Identify opportunities to improve IT support processes and report them to the IT Head.
Documentation/Inventory
Document solutions to common technical issues and create a knowledge base for frequently asked questions.
Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses, as per company policies.
Assist in conducting periodic audits of IT inventory and report discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Diploma in IT and other relevant certifications
Proven experience as a IT Support Specialist or similar role.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Knowledge on LAN/WAN Networks
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
