IT MANAGER

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Galle Face Hotel, an iconic landmark in Sri Lanka, is located in the heart of Colombo along the seafront, facing the renowned Galle Face Green. As one of the oldest hotels in the east of the Suez, and Colombo’s only HERITAGE GRAND classified hotel, The Galle Face Hotel, proudly embraces its rich history and legendary traditions. We at Galle Face invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

The Prospective IT Manager will be a unique individual who will be able to manage the IT needs of the hotel with a keen understanding of the hotel’s goals and determine how IT can support them. This Technological mastermind will be responsible for overseeing the technology systems and infrastructure within the hotel.

Responsibilities

Overseeing all IT operations and IT infrastructure of the Hotel.

Ensuring the maintenance of current hardware & application systems. Identify vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.

Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.

Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment & software.

Vendor relationship management with all key vendors to ensure obtaining the highest standards of Service.

Responsible for overseeing and handling network configuration, Servers, Workstations, Networking equipment, PABX, email

accounts, and also support for the underlying server/desktop infrastructure.

Prepare and implement Preventive Maintenance Schedule for all IT hardware and software.

Monitors and maintains a proper inventory of hardware and software licenses.

Is aware of IT Security Policies and ensures implementation through regular staff training.

Keep updated with the latest hotel technology and security risks regularly.

Able to perform other IT or Systems-related tasks assigned by the management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent professional qualification.

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a managerial capacity in the IT field.

Experience in ICT infrastructure administration and maintenance.

Knowledge of network, firewall, server & storage device configuration & operation.

Strong network & system troubleshooting skills.

Demonstrate a prominent level of self-motivation, leadership, problem-solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal and team working skills to interact with staff, management, and service providers. Experience in OPERA, MICROS, Symphony & Oracle Fusion Financials Cloud applications would be an added advantage.
