HR & ADMIN ASSISTANT

Commercial Development Company PLC (CDC), established in 1980 and located in the heart of Colombo 01, is seeking an exceptional candidate for the role of HR & Administrative Assistant.

Position Overview:

The HR & Administrative Assistant will assist in the company’s HR and Administrative operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and upkeep of employee records, handling payroll processes and managing the HR Information System (HRIS). In addition, the role involves handling a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of office operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and regularly update comprehensive employee records, including personal files, employment history, attendance, leave and ensure accurate input into the HRIS platform.

Assist in the recruitment process by posting job vacancies, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating the onboarding new employees to ensure a smooth transition.

Support in processing employee payroll accurately and on time, including salary calculations, deductions, and statutory contributions such as EPF, ETF.

Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, leave entitlements, company policies, and HR-related matters.

  • Manage day-to-day office tasks such as maintaining organized filing systems, handling correspondence, scheduling meetings, and ensuring proper documentation and archiving procedures.

Skills and Requirements

A Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in HR administration, payroll processing, HRIS management, or a similar role.

Proficient understanding of HR practices and processes, including recruitment, payroll, employee records management, and compliance with labour laws.

Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks efficiently, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with staff at all levels across the organization.
