G.E.C with 5 award passes in their language (Sinhala / Tamil) including Mathematics and English at one time. Passing 6 subjects in the General Examination.

At one time G.E.C. Passed A Level Examination with 3 passes (excluding General English and General Sense).

A pass in General English will be considered an additional qualification, and those with knowledge of computer applications will be given more consideration.

Age: Age should not exceed 22 years as on last date of receipt of applications.

Selection Procedure:

A written test will be conducted to test the knowledge of the eligible candidates. Candidates who score 50% or more in the exam will be called for interview.

Training and Placement:

The appointees have to complete two years of training covering all aspects of banking. Service will be evaluated every six months during the training period. Only after submission of Certificate of Completion of Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) Applied Banking and Finance (IABF) Intermediate Stage, appointment to permanent staff will be made.

The employees who are posted to the permanent staff will be placed in Bank Assistant Grade III. 41,670-320 x 20 – 48,070 per month on basic pay step of Bank Assistant Grade III (Pay Grade IX A) pay scale with Bank approved allowances (cost of living, rent and 10% allowances)

Confirmation is subject to a two- year probationary period, followed by two years of training. Also, the performance will be evaluated during the probationary period.

Trainees are paid a fixed monthly stipend (inclusive of all allowances) during the training period of two years.
