ASSOCIATE/SYSTEMS ENGINEER
We are looking for a self-motivated professional to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked and associated operating systems. Your duties will include communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments, our ideal candidate will also mentor and provide guidance to the Systems Engineer staff.
Responsibilities
Design and deploy new enhancements to existing network and systems.
Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams.
Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes
and service records.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a similar field.
Having RHCE (Red Hat) and CCNA certificate is mandatory.
CompTIAA+ or Network+, Vmware, Azure, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Sophos, Kaspersky certification may be advantageous.
Should have experience in open source mail solutions like Zimbra.
Having experience in virtualization environment like RHEV or Vmware ESXI will be an advantage.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Associate systems engineer.
Familiarity and experience with server operating systems, such as Linux and Microsoft, PaloAlto, Sopos, and Kaspersky.
Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as MPLS, Routing Protocols, TCP, IP and OSI models.
Design, install, configure and maintain Linux system-based solutions.
Harden Red hat, CentOS, Ubuntu based Linux systems and manage regular patch updates.
Need to work with third party vendor solutions like email and email security.
Doing POC, customer supports, implementation, troubleshooting, R&D related to proprietary software (Training will be provided).
Should highly maintain 24×7 customer and in-house network maintained support.
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong customer service orientation.
