Dabindu Collective Vacancy for Finance Offcier
Dabindu Collective, a non-profit organization established in 1984, advocates to protect and promote women workers’ rights in the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of Katunayake and other industrial areas, creating solidarity among women workers. The current program portfolio of the organization primarily focuses on activities concerning gender-based violence and rights of women workers, LGBTQ+ persons and sex workers, including the right to living wages, and sexual and reproductive health rights. Additionally, as a network member of the civil society collective for human rights.
Job Responsibilities
Assists Executive Director with the development of annual and program budgets
Approves all program expenditures (done by a Program Manager/Project Officer) and oversees expense allocations
Monitors program budgets
Monitors and manages all expenses to ensure most effective use of assets
Monitors grant reporting and appropriate release of temporarily restricted funds
Monitors and makes recommendations for asset retirement and replacement
Reviews, revises, and maintains internal accounting controls and procedures
Reviews all financial reports, all payrolls and is responsible for all personnel files and manages cash flow.
Reviews and approves all reimbursements and fund requests.
Processes all inter-account bank transfers
Qualifications and Requirements
Fully/Partly qualified in CA (B2)/CIMA/ACCA or any other equivalent qualification. (Graduate from a reputed University)
Qualified in AAT or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of Three Years’ experience in an audit firm or Non-Government Organization it should be an added advantage.
Strong English language skills, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is desirable
Ability to analyze variances and reconcile finance data
Excellence computer skills and competency in handling a computerized accounting system (Proficiency in QuickBooks and the ability to manage accounting functions within the software is a must.)
Age preferred below 26 to 45 years. (Female candidates only)
Work locations are Katunayake & Biyagama, also able to travel and work in the Northern Province as well.
